Founded in 1985, Seagull Scientific specializes in label printing software for both desktop and enterprise applications. Whether you’re new to label printing or already tackling the most challenging compliance-level projects, BarTender offers three product Editions to meet your requirements.
Available in the Enterprise Edition, the Professional Edition and the new Basic Edition, BarTender works with all major versions of Windows, including Windows XP, 2000 and Me. More than just label design software, BarTender has also been engineered for easy integration with other software products, including SAP’s various enterprise solutions.
Our most powerful Edition includes features that simplify the integration of BarTender with other software products. The Commander utility, included with the Enterprise Edition, makes it easy for BarTender to print across large networks comprised of both Windows and non-Windows systems.
The Enterprise Edition also delivers advanced capabilities for interfacing with SAP’s software systems, including the only available direct access link to SAP’s IDoc data formats. BarTender integration interface has been officially certified by SAP AG.
This Edition allows for an unlimited number of users per license. Each license purchased is based on the number of selected printers on each network. Licenses are available in packaged sizes of 3, 5, 10, 20, 40 and “unlimited” printers.

This Edition of BarTender contains the features needed by experienced label designers without sacrificing the ease-of-use required by first-time users. The Professional Edition delivers a very wide range of capabilities, including extensive data sourcing. Professional Edition licensing is based on the number of workstations on which BarTender will be installed, allowing a defined number of users to print to an unlimited number or printers. This Edition is ideal when one or multiple users are not connected to a common network.
The Basic Edition is designed for users who just need BarTender’s essential label-design features. There’s no external data sourcing and limited internal data processing. However, you can still design almost any type of label and output to any of the printers supported by the other Editions of BarTender. Basic Edition licensing utilizes the more common workstation-based licensing. (See Professional Edition.) |
